Nova Scotia is continuing to make headway in the NBA with the announcement that a second bluenoser has made an NBA roster.
On Thursday, the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks announced they have agreed to sign Nova Scotia native Lindell Wiggington to a two-way contract.
Wigginton grew up in Uniacke Square inHalifax, where he played one season of high school basketball with Prince Andrew High School before transferring to a prep school in Virginia.
After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft following two seasons at Iowa State, Wigginton spent his first two professional seasons playing with the Iowa Wolves of the G League (2019-21) and internationally in the Israeli Basketball Premier League (2019-20) and Canadian Elite Basketball League (2020-21).
According to the NBA, two-way contracts benefit undrafted players who do not make the cut in the NBA Draft and enables teams to keep these players “on retainer” without having to sign to a full-time contract.
Should Wigginton end up getting game time he would become the second-ever Nova Scotian to do so, following Nate Darling who made his NBA debut with the Charlotte Hornets in March 2021.
