A listener had this interesting dilemma and needs your advice:
“My husband’s sister (who’s a wonderful lady!) had her daughter the same time we had our baby girl, only a month apart.
Her daughter’s never been to daycare and has not been socialized in any way with other children including my daughter. In fact she won’t even play with other kids and just seems to want adult attention.
I would rather they not be around each other but my husband says it would be a good lesson for our daughter to experience kids like this. (They’re both just out of the toddler stage)
I think the world is mean enough and that she shouldn’t have to experience mean kids yet if she doesn’t have to. Am I being too rigid about this?
