Public to weigh in on proposed wind farm in Milton

Queens County residents are being invited to engage in a critical dialogue regarding a wind farm initiative proposed for Milton.

Roswall Development Inc. has outlined plans to erect 33 wind turbines on approximately 80 hectares of Crown land near the Mersey River, pending a development agreement with the Region of Queens.

Despite the land not currently being zoned for large-scale wind farms, councilors have voted to advance the project.

However, before any final decisions are made, a public hearing has been scheduled for March 12 at 9 a.m. in council chambers.

Residents are encouraged to attend the hearing and share their thoughts on the project the hearing or submit written comments if unable to attend.

Two public consultations on the matter have already taken place in 2022 and meetings with the local indigenous community in 2023.
