Liverpool will be home to Atlantic Canada’s best Junior ‘B’ hockey teams in 2021.
Queens Place Emera Centre was announced today as the host facility of the Don Johnson Memorial Cup.
The local Junior ‘B’ team, the Liverpool Privateers, will earn a berth into the championship as tournament host.
Team President, Bruce Inglis, says the organization is honoured and it will be a huge plus for the community.
“I suspect we will have about 200 visitors occupying our hotels and eating our food and seeing our beautiful scenery and taking part in a real Queens County experience.”

Inglis says he expects an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated fanbase to attend the high level event.
He says it’s another opportunity to showcase their community.
“The community of Liverpool and Queens as a whole really is a hosting community and I think the facility is absolutely first rate. I think that we’re going to give an experience to these young men that they will never forget.”
Inglis says there will be a need for volunteers and hopes people will step forward to help.
The tournament will be held April 27 to May 2, 2021.
