Liverpool To Host Atlantic Synchro Skating Championships

The Atlantic Synchronized Skating Championships are coming to Liverpool early next year.

Skate Canada Nova Scotia announced the 2018 event will be hosted by Queens Place Emera Centre from January 26 to 28.

The championship will see more than 250 athletes competing from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Host Committee Chair, Melissa Robinson, says the event will offer a new vibe of skating to the community.

“The synchronized skaters will deliver outstanding performances throughout the event, at a level we’ve not seen here before.”

The top team in five divisions will advance to the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships.

Robinson says she expects the event will generate significant economic impact for the community through hotel stays, restaurants and local activities.

There will be a $5 admission fee with half of that going to the local Queens County Blades Skating Club.
