Local Teachers To Be Recognized During Education Week

Two local teachers are being recognized for helping students become critical thinkers in digital media.

Erin Dunn-Keefe of Bridgewater Junior Senior-High and John Tutty of South Queens Middle School will attend an Education Week awards ceremony Monday in Bedford.

Dunn-Keefe helped students create an online magazine to sharing their writing, photos and artwork.

She says it teaches them a valuable lesson.

“We’re teaching them how to respect art and creative things that are online and also how to be creative contributors to what’s out there online and to be part of the voice of what’s happening in the online world.”

Tutty is considered a technical whiz and supports students and staff at South Queens.

No information has been provided for award winners in Shelburne or Yarmouth.
