Lumberjacks Return From Holidays With Game Against Yarmouth

The South Shore Lumberjacks returned to the ice this week after a two week holiday. Coach Kyle McAllister says that was really the only unique thing in the preparation for tonight’s matchup with the Yarmouth Mariners. “Well, we had to do a little extra skating this week to work off all the turkey but other than that we’ve seen Yarmouth a lot and know what to expect.”

The Jacks enter the business end of the season in a strong position. They currently are five points off the Eastlink South Division-leading Mariners.

With eighteen games left in their season that gives the Jacks plenty of time to improve their seeding for the playoffs.

To do that though McAllister hopes he will get some help in the form of some trades before the January 10th deadline. Specifically he says they will be looking to add some offensive firepower to their ranks.

Before the holiday break, the Jacks found themselves in a bit of a slump only winning two of their last ten games. McAllister hopes they can refind the early season form that saw them lead the division for multiple weeks.
