Lunenburg FD Respond to Downed Electrical Lines

Update 3:oo p.m.

The Town of Lunenburg estimates power will be restored to the Lincoln Street area around 3:30 p.m..

The Lunenburg Fire Department (LFD) was called to deal with an electrical fire Thursday morning on Lincoln Street.

Corey Hodder with the LFD says they believe a secondary power line burned off the pole then crossed over other wires and caused the pole to catch fire briefly.

Firefighters were able to contain the scene quickly, however, Lincoln Street remains closed as of 12:50 as power crews work to replace the damaged lines.

Nova Scotia Power says restoration work is being handled by the town as they handle their own utility and as a result, there is no estimated restoration time listed on their Outage Map.
