Lunenburg approves funding for bandstand repairs

The Town of Lunenburg is hopeful that it’s bandstand will be fixed in time for next summer.

At a recent Lunenburg Town Council meeting councillors approved allocating $40,000 for the repairs to the bandstand which was deemed unsafe in May.

The bandstand regularly hosts musical performances throughout the warmer months and this year with it being shut down many had to find alternative venues.

Town Engineer Tyson Joyce presented the information on the repairs and indicated that with funding in place, the tendering process can hopefully be completed over the winter in order for the work to begin in the spring.
