Lunenburg Dog Park warns of osprey swooping at small pets

Organizers with the Lunenburg Dog Park are alerting its users that an osprey has been spotted swooping at small dogs attempting to pick them up.

An Osprey nest has been situated near the park for years, and while typically there are no issues with the dog park things have changed recently.

In a post on social media, the park organizers indicated they believe a male and female osprey couple are acting more aggressively in the area as they have new hatchlings in the nest which is close to the small dog area of the park.

Anyone visiting the dog park located on Starr Street with a small dog should keep a close eye on them as a precaution.
