Lunenburg launches next phase of electrical upgrades

Work is underway on the next stage of electrical system upgrades in the Town of Lunenburg.

Phase 2 of the capital project began this week and is expected to continue into October.

Crews are installing new conductors, poles, transformers, and secondary power lines along Green Street, Victoria Road, and Hall Street.

The upgrades will also extend toward the new Harbour View Haven facility.

The town says the project is designed to increase both electrical capacity and reliability.

While the work is taking place, some residents may experience short power outages.

Nova Scotia Power, along with its contractors and town staff, will provide advance notice wherever possible.

Officials are also reminding people to take care around construction zones, including following any pedestrian traffic signs that are put in place.
