Dahl Dispatch is reporting that the fire has jumped over a road in the area and is still considered “very active”.
Update 2:58 p.m.
At least 4 additional tankers have been requested and a helicopter is now on scene to assist.
Mutual aid is being provided by fire departments from Nictaux, Middleton, Lawrencetown, New Germany, Aylesford/Lake Paul, Berwick and New Ross.
Update 2:49 p.m.
Firefighters have been dispatched from Lunenburg, Annapolis and Kings counties to help battle a forest fire in the Springfield area.
Reports indicate that at least 10 fire departments have been dispatched to assist including Springfield and District, New Germany, Nicteaux falls and others that have not yet been officially confirmed.
RCMP say no detours or road closures have been implemented yet.
