A 41-year-old man from Riverhead is facing child pornography charges.
RCMP say the man was arrested June 3 after they searched a home on Oak Park Road.
A social media app had alerted investigators to the home after their service was used to send child pornography.
Police learned the man had also communicated online with a child in Newfoundland, sending sexually explicit material.
They found the victim and gathered the evidence.
The suspect has been charged with:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Distribution of Child Pornography
- Luring a Child
- Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child
The man has been released on conditions and is scheduled for court on September 2.
RCMP say it is possible there are more victims and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
