Man facing charges after attempted stabbing in Bridgewater

A man is facing charges after an attempted stabbing in Bridgewater over the weekend.

Police say they got a call about a man trying to stab another man at about 10:40 p.m., Saturday in the area of High Street.

No injuries were reported.

Police then found a man matching a description of the suspect in a room at the Bridgewater Motel and a weapon was seized.

He’s been charged with:

— Assault with a weapon per Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
— Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace per Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Bridgewater Police say they would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
