Man Found Dead On Side Of Road In Maplewood

Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man lying on the side of Gilbert Road in Maplewood on July 18.

Paramedics at the scene determined that the man had been there, deceased, for a couple of hours.

The remains were found by a resident of the area. RCMP members secured the scene and began a canvass of the community, checking with residents in the area to determine the man’s identity.

At this time RCMP say they do not suspect foul play preceding the man’s death.

They now have a tentative identity of the deceased but they will not release the name until it can be fully confirmed and the family can be notified.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted and will assist in the ongoing investigation.
