Mass Roadwork Project Underway In Bridgewater

A number of Bridgewater’s roads are getting a facelift over the next few weeks.

As part of the town’s annual pavement renewal work, crews began working on repaving 14 roads throughout town Sunday, including parts of Dufferin St, Jubilee Rd, King St, High St, and LaHave St., among others.

Patrick Hirtle, communications officer for the town, says anyone travelling to or around Bridgewater while the work is going on should plan out their routes before leaving to avoid traffic jams and missed appointments.

“That’s why we like to give lots of notice that this work is taking place,” he said, “So that people who are planning to travel to Bridgewater or throughout the community can allow that extra travel time and make sure they aren’t late.”

Hirtle expects the work to take around three weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions, but doesn’t expect it to interfere with services like garbage pick up.

The full list of streets being worked on is:

– Aberdeen Road (Miller Dr. to Chapel Hill Rd.)
– Aberdeen Road (Hirtle Dr. to Davison Dr.)
