Millbrook man arrested after struggle with DFO officers over elver nets; RCMP

A Millbrook man was arrested for allegedly obstructing fishery officers.

It happened late Friday night as DFO officers were conducting an inspection on the Tangier River.

A man allegedly tried to take elver fishing nets held by the officers, and a struggle ensued.

RCMP say the man resisted arrest, and he suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to the Musquodoboit Harbour detachment and assessed by EHS.

The 46-year-old was later released and will appear in court next month on charges of obstructing and assaulting a peace officer.
