In an effort to get away from all the depressing Covid news yesterday, Karen and I sat down to watch a movie that we’d both seen before – Million Dollar Baby with Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman about a young woman who wants to box professionally.
My memory of the movie from 2004 was that it had great drama between Swank and Eastwood and some superb fight scenes where you get to root for the underdog.
But here’s the thing about that movie – even though we’d seen it before we forgot about the ending. Not giving any spoilers here but it’s got to be the most depressing ending of any movie ever.
We’re talking Ol Yeller and Shawshank Redemption depressing!
We were both in a deep funk for hours afterwards.
