The Municipality of Lunenburg has found their new chief administrative officer.
Tom MacEwan will begin his role with MODL as of September 16.
He is currently the CAO with the Municipality of the District of Shelburne and has worked on projects like the rural internet strategy.
MacEwan says he understands high-speed internet is a priority for his new employer.
In a statement to our newsroom, MacEwan says he met with representatives from several internet providers in Shelburne to learn about their services and that will assist him in exploring viable solutions for MODL.
He adds, the move is a good opportunity to have a healthy work-life balance while also bringing him closer to his family.
MacEwan replaces Kevin Malloy, who retired in June.
Alex Dumaresq is serving as Acting Chief Administrative Officer until MacEwan arrives.
