Mooseheads anthem singer Peter Baylis passes away

The long-time anthem singer for the Halifax Mooseheads has died.

Peter Baylis passed away early Wednesday morning at age 62 after a battle with brain cancer.

His wife Jen announced his passing on the family’s GoFundMe page, which has raised over $64,000.

Baylis told Acadia News in June that support for him was overwhelming.

His wife said he stepped into the light, surrounded by lifelong friends and family, while he slept, dreamt and readied himself for his next gig.

In a statement, the Mooseheads said Baylis’ voice wasn’t just heard, it was felt, and he left an enduring mark on the organization and fans.
