It was an exciting Saturday for Halifax Mooseheads fans.
The Quebec Major Junior hockey team used their first overall pick in the draft to select Gatineau forward Benoit-Olivier Groulx.
General Manager Cam Russell then landed the second overall pick from Baie Comeau and selected Cole Harbour defenceman Jared McIsaac.
Halifax sent the seventh, 16th and 21st selections this year to Baie-Comeau along with the rights to Rouyn-Noranda’s first round pick in 2017 in exchange for McIsaac.
Meanwhile, 29 Nova Scotians were drafted Saturday in Charlottetown – the most since 2005.
