N.S. Athletes Win 56 Medals At Canada Games

A record-tying 56 medals for Nova Scotia at the Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario.

We finished with 22 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze, as the games wrapped up yesterday.

Nova Scotia won three team-sport medals, that’s the most ever for the province.

We won silver in men’s softball, and bronze in women’s soccer and men’s basketball.

Our canoe-kayak athletes took most of our medals, with Dartmouth’s Lily Baert winning six.

David Watson, softball pitcher and Athletics Special Olympian Joy MacLachlan carried the flag during last night’s closing ceremony.
