N.S. Health opens third Geriatric Medicine Clinic

Nova Scotia seniors now have more access to the care they need.

Nova Scotia Health has opened a new Geriatric Medicine Clinic.

It’s located on the Dartmouth General Hospital campus.

The health authority says it will help more seniors in the Central health Zone access medical services, as well as reducing the amount of people who visit emergency departments.

The province operates two other geriatric outpatient clinics,

one at the Veteran’s hospital in Halifax and one at the Cobequid Community Health Centre in Lower Sackville.

To visit one, you have to be referred by your doctor or a nurse practitioner.
