N.S. reaches agreements to remove key interprovincial trade barriers

The province has reached agreements to remove more trade barriers.

Finance Minister John Lohr was busy at an internal trade meeting in Yellowknife on Wednesday.

The agreements reached with the federal government and other provinces and territories will help make the trade of goods, trucking and financial services easier.

Lohr says it’s the next step in the province’s effort to remove interprovincial trade barriers that have held the economy back for too long.

He says the Houston government believes in nationwide free trade, and they’re committed to getting the work done over time.

Stats released by the province say about half of our total exports are interprovincial, they were worth over $31 billion in 2024.
