Nationwide protests planned over carbon tax

Opponents of the federal carbon tax plan to take their message to the streets.

Demonstrations are being planned in Ottawa and across the country on Monday.

That is the same day the federal carbon tax is set to increase, adding another three cents to a litre of gasoline.

A national group called “Nation-wide Protest Against the Carbon Tax” is organizing the events.

Organizers plan to hold demonstrations at several interprovincial border crossings, among other locations.

Officials said traffic will still be allowed through, adding the events will continue until the carbon tax is removed.
