Nature Is Out To Get You

It happens every year. And yet somehow, it still manages to sneak up on me every year. Pollen. The thing that turns everything yellow.

I’ve been trying to ignore it, although I shouldn’t. My sinuses have been telling me I shouldn’t. You can see it in the water. You can see it on your car. You can see it on pretty much every surface. Pollen seems to be everywhere.

And you have to be a bit careful these days. Should you happen to sneeze in public, people look at you funny. No one really believes it is just allergies. And heaven forbid you should start coughing.

But the sneezing in public is especially dangerous. Particularly since we are all wearing masks these days. Sneezing inside a mask is not fun. You really don’t have much choice some times. But it is something most people would recommend you avoid.

But it’s not easy, with the yellow haze everywhere.

It doesn’t last long. Usually just a couple weeks. But it can still be pretty annoying, particularly for those with allergies. It is that time of year when pretty much everything seems to be in bloom. Trees, flowers, almost every plant in site is tossing large quantities of pollen into the air, with the hope that they will either produce offspring or make us sneeze.

While making us sneeze does not seem to be the optimal result, most plants seem quite happy about it.

It will be over soon. That lovely yellow that is currently coating everything will soon be gone. We hope.
