It’s back to class for all students this morning after a strike involving roughly 1,800 support workers at Halifax schools is over.
Unionized members has been on the picket lines since May fighting for better pay.
They voted in favour of a new contract over the weekend.
The deal includes retroactive pay, better health and safety language but no raises outside the 6.5 per cent hike all unions in the province agreed to in April.
CUPE President Chris Melanson says they were unable to get the province to budge on salaries, even though workers argued the cost of living is higher in the city than rural areas.
