New playground opens at MARC

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) has officially opened a new playground at the MARC Ballfields in Dayspring, enhancing the recreational offerings at the year-round outdoor facility.

Known as the Municipal Activity and Recreation Complex (MARC), the park area covers 100 acres of open space, featuring fields, woods, ponds, brooks, and trails.

The new playground includes multiple slides, climbing structures, and a swingset, making it a welcoming space for children and families. It is replacing the previous playground equipment which was deemed unsafe in late 2023.

In addition to the playground the MARC complex provides numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, such as picnicking, wildlife watching, stargazing, and exploring the trails by foot or mountain bike.

While the playground will remain open year-round, users should be aware that limited winter maintenance may lead to occasional closures during snowy weather.

The MARC complex is located at 97 Leary Fraser Road in Dayspring.
