New Year’s Diet? No! Well, Kind Of.

My New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, but I’m avoiding the word “diet”

It is more along the lines of making permanent lifestyle changes.

Over the holidays I had way too many sweets but far less than I would have normally.

I’m not doing keto but I’m cutting way back on my carbs and trying to get more protein into my meals.

And I’ve come up with a new rule which I think I can follow.

I know I spend far too much time in front of the computer or the tv. So I have a timer. Whether I’m playing a game or watching a show or just reading on the internet the timer goes off at 40 minutes. Which means I have to stand and step away from the screen and walk for 20 minutes. On nice days I’ll step outside and walk around the yard and some days it means I will just walk back and forth down the hallway. Either way you could say they are “small steps” to leading a more active lifestyle.

I think this is doable. I’ll let you know how it works out.

Are you making changes for 2021?
