Ever been given a strange nickname? Dads and uncles are known for giving kids strange ones. Even teachers.
When I was a kid I loved grape popsicles. Sometimes I would have a purple moustache of sorts after eating one. My uncle would refer to me for years as the “purple people eater” from the pop song.
In junior high one of my teachers could never remember my name and always referred to me in class as “Poopsie”. She was a Newfoundlander so that might have had something to do with the nickname. I am still mystified to this day.
I’ve never been much for giving out nicknames. Most kids and coworkers don’t like it.
Although there was a brief period in my son’s teen years when I would call him ” Shuh-theed” but it wasn’t spelled that way.
