No injuries after 600K in gas spilled at Imperial Oil plant in Sydney

Clean up work is underway after a major gas spill at the Imperial Oil plant in Sydney on Friday.

More than 600,000 litres of gas spilled in the incident.

It happened when a front-end loader crashed into a storage tank filled with fuel.

Most of the gas that spilled was pumped into an empty storage tank nearby.

Remediation work is now taking place.

Imperial is working with the Department of Environment throughout the process.

No one was injured.
