No Injuries in Hebbville School Bus Colision

Lunenburg District RCMP are reminding their community to drive with caution around school buses following a collision with one that took place this week.

The incident took place on Highway 3, when a bus was traveling eastbound and slowed down to stop and let students off. As the bus deployed it’s arm equipped with a stop sign a Ford F-150 traveling westbound failed to slow down and struck the arm of the bus.

Neither vehicle sustained any significant damage however the driver was given a $410 ticket for failure to stop.

This week is also National Bus Safety Week, so Cpl. Chris Marshall offered a reminder of how you should drive when near a bus. “Regardless of which way you are traveling if you see a bus that’s a sign that you need to pay attention to their lights,” Marshall said. “If they are amber that means the bus is about to stop, so don’t treat it like a yellow traffic light where we often see people speed up, slow down and pay attention.”.
