Nova Scotia Athletes Win Seven Medals In Canoe-Kayak At Canada Games

A big medal haul on the water for our province at the Canada Games.

Nova Scotia took home seven medals in canoe-kayaking events.

That includes five gold and two bronze.

We now have 12 medals at the games, seven gold, one silver and four bronze.

Canoe-Kayak Medal winners from yesterday:

Julia Lilley-Osmonde (Dartmouth) Gold – Women’s C-1 500 metres
Alex Canning (Darmouth) Gold- Men’s K-1 500 metres
Andrew Billard (Hammonds Plains) Gold – Men’s C-1,500 metres
Ava Carew (Dartmouth) and Jessica MacKay (Halifax) Gold – Women’s C-2 1,000 metres
Ian Gaudet and Cole Parsons (Dartmouth) Gold – Men’s K-2 1,000 meters
Alex MacNeil (Timberlea) and Jai Palawan (Dartmouth) Bronze – Men’s C-1 1,000 metres
Lily Baert (Dartmouth) Bronze – Women’s K-1 500 metres

Our girls 4×100 relay team set a provincial record time, and our men’s softball team won both of their games.

Nova Scotia’s women’s soccer team beat Newfoundland 2-0.
