Nova Scotians MacKinnon and Stewart make Canada’s U18 team

Two teenage hockey players will represent our province on the international stage.

Cape Sable Island’s Jessica MacKinnon and Antigonish’s Rhyah Stewart have made Canada’s national women’s under-18 team.

They’ll play a three-game series against Team USA in Lake Placid, starting Wednesday.

Stewart spent last season in goal for the Cape Breton West Islanders in the NS Under-18 Major League.

MacKinnon played at the Canada Winter Games for Team Nova Scotia in February.
