Nova Scotians Strong For Canada At World Hockey Championship

A silver medal for Nova Scotians Drake Batherson and Ryan Graves at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship.

New Minas forward Batherson finished second in tournament scoring with three goals and 11 assists.

Graves, a defenseman from Yarmouth, was named one of Canada’s top players, scoring two goals and adding seven assists with a plus-eight rating.

 

 

Canada fell 4-3 to Finland in overtime in Sunday’s gold medal game.

Finland took a 3-1 lead late in the third, but Canada scored two goals with the extra-attacker in the last 2:12 of the third to force extra time.

The Finns won gold on home ice with a powerplay goal.
