Nova Scotia’s 48th Annual Provincial Volunteer Awards

Volunteers from across the province were honored at the 48th Annual Provincial Volunteer Awards ceremony on Monday.

This year, a total of 70 awards were handed out. Representative awards went to selected individuals from each Municipality and First Nations communities in the province and three specialty awards were presented as well, The Youth Volunteer Award, the Family Volunteer Award, and the Nova Scotia Strong Award.

Amanda Laurie Brown, the winner of the Family Volunteer Award says it’s important to celebrate volunteers and to thank them for a job well done.

MLA Timothy Halman states that the act of serving the needs of others is truly admirable and we are forever appreciative of these efforts to help improve the quality of life for Nova Scotians.
