Nova Scotia’s most popular baby names in 2025

Service Nova Scotia has announced the top baby names given in the province for 2025.

According to Nova Scotia’s Registry of Vital Statistics, the most popular name given this year was Charlotte to 42 babies.

Second on the list was Henry for 40 boys born in 2025.

Other top 10 names recorded are William, Noah, Jack, Violet, Oliver, Theodore, Wesley and Lainey.

The next most popular names were Ava, Lily, Levi, Thomas, Amelia, Nora, Ella, Leo, Bennett, Olivia, Isla and Maeve.

As of December 30, there were 7,184 registered births in Nova Scotia this year, which is up 30 from last year.

Nova Scotia began registering births formally on August 1, 1864, and the most popular names given that year were Mary and John.
