Nova Scotia’s police watchdog closes investigation into Lunenburg RCMP officer

Nova Scotia’s police watchdog has concluded its investigation into an RCMP officer from Lunenburg regarding an incident in May that involved a man in distress.

The Lunenburg District RCMP responded to the situation and discharged a taser to subdue the man before arresting him.

Following a review, the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) determined that the injuries sustained by the individual were self-inflicted and not the result of any actions taken by the police officer.

As a result of these findings, SiRT has decided to terminate the investigation.
