NS Marathon returns to Barrington

The 52nd Nova Scotia Marathon is on this weekend.

On Sunday at 7 a.m, over 120 people will line up at Sherose Island in Barrington.

The run goes through the community, across the Causeway through Cape Sable Island and back.

The annual event will be the first time many will see the devastation caused by wildfires in the community.

Misty James with Barrington Recreation says they’e received lots of well wishes.

“For those who haven’t been here, it will definitely be hard for them to drive through and see the devastation. We’ve had lots of support, and more people are coming than ever before,” said James.

Over 550 participants will run different distances.
