NSCC in Shelburne to get new fisheries simulator

A new fisheries simulator is coming to NSCC in Shelburne.

It’s the first of its kind in the country.

The province says it will allow students to practice operating a fishing vessel on land.

It will have navigation for both fishing and aquaculture, and help students in trainign and support.

NSCC President Don Bureaux says this makes the college a leader in fishery and marine innovation.

The province is providing $350,000, the simulator is expected to be ready this fall.
