NSHA says this includes common areas such as hallways, elevators, staircases and cafeterias, clinical care areas where patients, clients, families and caregivers are present as well as inpatient and ambulance settings.
This comes after an increase and anticipation of the flu and other respiratory viruses in the coming weeks.
The rule goes into effect Thursday, October 12.
