A key crossing in Bridgewater is closed this week as repair work gets underway.
The Nova Scotia Department of Public Works has shut down the Old Bridge to both vehicles and pedestrians while crews replace the decking.
The closure began Monday morning and is expected to remain in place until Friday afternoon.
The surrounding section of roadway is also closed to traffic while the work is ongoing.
Drivers are being encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure.
