Old Bridge Traffic Lights Set To Be Repaired Next Week

After a power outage on Dec. 27th, the traffic lights at Old Bridge Rd in Bridgewater started malfunctioning.

Now over five days from the original outage the lights are still operating as a four-way stop.

Communications for the Town of Bridgewater Patrick Hirtle says the wind was likely the cause of the issue.

“We think a wire in one of the arms was pinched off by the wind which caused the outage.”

He says crews have been contacted to confirm that theory next week. If that is the problem Hirtle says it should be a relatively quick fix.

Until then it will remain a four-way stop and the town want to remind people to give themselves extra time when traveling that way as there will likely be delays.
