One dead, three injured in Cavendish, PEI cottage fire

Tragedy in Cavendish, P.E.I.

RCMP and firefighters from New Glasgow and North Rustico were called to Route 6 early Sunday morning where they found a cottage fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters discovered human remains inside once the fire was extinguished.

Three others were hurt, one with serious injuries. EMS also attended the scene.

An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

The PEI Fire Marshal’s Office, the PEI Coroner’s Office, and RCMP Forensic Identification Services are assisting with the investigation.
