Ottawa gives $13 million for home builds in Atlantic Canada

Ottawa is looking to build more homes in Atlantic Canada.

About $13 million will go to 28 projects aimed at modernizing home building.

The government says it will help builders, suppliers and trades with modular and prefabricated builds.

Justice and ACOA minister Sean Fraser made the announcement in Fredericton, where $1.8 million will go to the University of New Brunswick for an off-site construction research centre.

Fraser says this will support their ‘Build Canada Homes’ inititative, and help construction grow to meet demand.
