UPDATE: 911 Services Restored Across The Maritimes

UPDATE 11:16 am:

The provincial government announced all 911 phone services have been restored across the province.

A technical issue appears to have knocked out many landlines across the Maritimes.

That includes 911 services.

RCMP in the province say that due to a regional technical issue with phone lines, some 911 calls are not getting through.

RCMP request that people call 902-893-1323 for emergency services if needed.

Yarmouth Fire Department also issued a notice that residents can phone 1-888-346-9999 for EHS.

A newsroom within the Acadia news network tried to reach out via a Bell telephone landline and received a busy signal, or a message that says “All Circuits are Currently Busy”.

RCMP in New Brunswick tweeted at 10:40 a.m. that service in that province had been restored.

The problem also appears to be affecting other phone service providers as well.

Bell said in an email that they are looking into it, and will provide more details when they have them.
