I drove in the yard the other evening and saw a sight that is not uncommon. I saw a large female deer grazing on fallen apples under a few of our apple trees! What was strange is that she didn’t seem to mind that I was there. I parked the car, slammed the door and even walked up to her without her minding much.
I live quite a ways off the road so deer and other wild animals are nearby a lot of the time! Usually though they are timid and very cautious about humans getting too close to them! This one wasn’t however! Check out the video! (I added some dramatic music)
After a little while she did run away but she was not scared of me at all. She probably has been fed by someone in the community and has been taught not to fear humans. I don’t really know why people intenanny feed deer but it can be dangerous if you’re near a road and tame deer are wandering around! They are also wild animals and not pets! What do you think about people feeding deer?
