Elspeth at Wiles Lake Farm Market mentioned the other day that pickling season is well underway. People are picking up the vegetables and berries for making pickles and jams.
We do a number of preserves at home. Our blueberry bushes give us lots of berries for jam.
And we make a few different pickles – dill, mustard, bread and butter and our favourite – pickled beets.
We’ve tried quite a few but have never made pickled carrots or beans. Any recommendations?
