According to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Chris Marshall, they believe the vandalism took place sometime on May 5, between 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m..

“A few signs were damaged, a park bench was knocked over and the toilet was stuffed with garbage which resulted in it breaking,” Marshall said.

RCMP are asking anyone with information on the vandalism to contact the Lunenburg RCMP detachment at (902) 527-5555.

The park is a non-profit entity operated by volunteers from the community. It includes a playground, a basketball court, an outdoor rink, and is surrounded by trails for cycling and walking.

It is located on Charlie Lane in Pine Grove

In a Facebook post on the park’s page, it says the gate which allows vehicles access will remain closed until the issue is resolved, however, the park will remain open.
