Police search for missing newborn in Halifax

Halifax Police are looking for a newborn baby that has gone missing in the city.

A release from Halifax Regional Police just before 5 p.m. Saturday said officers were notified Friday night of a woman in hospital in life-threatening condition who appeared to have just given birth.

The baby has not been located.

Police and Nova Scotia Ground Search and Rescue are searching the area of 214 Willett St. in Halifax.

The public is being urged to stay clear of the area so investigators can conduct a thorough search.

Police have also asked the public to search their own properties and report anything suspicious.

Four people are currently in custody and being questioned.

No charges have been laid at this point.
